Lehigh Valley, Pa. — Cory P. Balliet, an associate with Lehigh Valley law firm Tallman, Hudders & Sorrentino, has been nominated to represent Lehigh County at the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s 2009 Young Lawyers Division (YLD) Summer Meeting and New Admittee Conference.
The Conference will take place from August 7-9, 2009, at Seven Springs Mountain Resort in Champion, Somerset County, Pa. The bar association presidents from the state’s 67 counties each nominate one representative to attend the conference on behalf of his or her county. The representative must have been in practice for three years or less. Balliet, an attorney licensed to practice law in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey, has been in practice since 2008.
The purpose of the New Admittee Conference is to provide business, educational and networking opportunities to its attendees. The attendees participate in the YLD’s annual business meeting and attend several continuing legal education (CLE) programs. The CLE programs focus primarily on leadership and ethical issues, and they consider the practical issues that new attorneys face in their daily practices.
“Although early in his legal career, Cory has already demonstrated a knack for leadership and for making an impact, and has all the makings of becoming a distinguished barrister in the future. We are proud to have him represent the Bar Association of Lehigh County at the annual YLD New Admittee Conference,” said Dan LaBert, Executive Director of the Bar Association of Lehigh County.
A resident of Emmaus, Balliet focuses his practice on business, corporate, and health care law. He received his B.A. in Economics from Lafayette College in Easton, Pa., and his J.D., cum laude, from Syracuse University College of Law where he was an editor of the Syracuse Law Review.
