Harris Elected President of the Estate Planning Council of Lehigh Valley

Lehigh Valley, Pa.Judith A. Harris, a partner with Lehigh Valley law firm Tallman, Hudders & Sorrentino, has been elected president of the Estate Planning Council of the Lehigh Valley. She most recently served as the organization’s vice-president. 

The Estate Planning Council of the Lehigh Valley works to increase public awareness of the importance of estate planning and promote effective and efficient estate planning through its membership of qualified professionals. Additionally, the Council is focused on establishing and monitoring the highest professional and educational standards among its members.

At this year’s annual meeting of the Estate Planning Council, Harris introduced Stephan Leimberg, J.D., a noted authority on tax and estate planning for business owners and other wealthy clients, who spoke on “Tough Issues in Buy-Sell Planning”. As part of her role as the Council’s vice-president, Harris also appeared on Lehigh Valley radio station WAEB with financial planner Laurie Siebert, CPA, CFP, on her Saturday morning program, “Your Financial Choices,” to discuss and answer caller questions regarding estate and tax planning.

Other Council members elected to office include:  Jane Kapinas, Peapack-Gladstone Bank, Vice President; Joseph A. Mastriani, CPA, CFP, Buckno Lisicky & Company, P.C., Secretary; Robert H. DeSilver, Jr., ChFC, Clermont Wealth Strategies, Treasurer; and Robert H. Brown, CLU, ChFC, AEP, Lehigh Valley Investment Group, Past President.

Harris, a graduate of Bryn Mawr College, Washington College of Law of The American University and Villanova University Law School, is a partner in the firm and currently a member of its management committee. As chair of the Estate, Trust and Taxation Practice Group, her practice focuses on taxation, wills and trusts, and estate administration.

Harris is currently a board member of the Fund to Benefit Children & Youth, Inc., having served as president from 2006-2009; a board member of the Allentown Symphony since 1993; and a member of the Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.),   She is also a board member of the Lehigh County Agricultural Society.  Harris recently completed 10 years as a member of the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority board of governors, where she chaired the Personnel and Law committee and was vice-chair of the finance committee.
