Lehigh Valley, Pa. -- George Hlavac, an attorney and shareholder with Lehigh Valley law firm Tallman, Hudders & Sorrentino, will recruit individuals and area companies to serve as Heroes for the 2009 American Red Cross campaign. Each Hero will raise $1,000 for the American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley.
Hlavac is currently serving as Chair of the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley. In addition to serving on the Red Cross board in various roles since 2003, Hlavac also volunteers as a career counselor for the Minsi Trails Council Learning for Life program and is a soccer coach for the Parkland Area Soccer Club and a baseball and football coach for the South Parkland Youth Association.
The American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley serves more than 680,000 residents of Carbon, Lehigh and Northampton counties. Last year the Red Cross provided health and safety education training; Lifeline, a personal response service for seniors; and emergency relief to more than 23,000 Greater Lehigh Valley residents.
